Look Again Visual Art & Design Festival is a celebration of the very best contemporary visual art and design, showcasing both local and internationally acclaimed talent in Aberdeen.
Look Again aims to challenge the way we see the Granite City, encouraging its audience to ‘become a tourist in your own city’ and take time to look at the spaces and places around us through fresh eyes.
Aligning with the Year of History, Heritage and Archaeology, our 2017 programme will see artists and designers delve into the extensive collection of archives in the city, as inspiration for new public art works celebrating our rich cultural heritage.
Visual artists Thomson & Craighead will show work including a new piece commissioned by Look Again referencing Aberdeen Harbour. Swedish-based designer Nick Ross will make new work inspired by Aberdeen’s Seven Incorporated Trades, and a set of follies created by Scottish artist Jason Nelson will tell the story of Aberdeen.
Look Again continues to support local artists and designers through a series of skills development programmes embedded intothe commissioning, production and exhibition processes of the festival - allowing us to support and develop the visual art and design sector in our area and enabling creative practitioners to return to the northeast.
Working with key partner organisations inthe city, 2017 promises another unmissable programme of exhibitions, public art installations, workshops, talks and events.
Festivals in Aberdeen are unique, inspiring and most of all, entertaining.
